The Idaho Central Credit Union (ICCU), is a state chartered credit union headquartered in Chubbuck, Idaho. ICCU is the largest credit union in Idaho, with numerous branches serving more than 200,000 members and assets of over $2.14 billion. ICCU's governing agency is the Idaho Department of Finance. ==History== Idaho Central Credit Union was started on June 28, 1940 in Boise, Idaho. ICCU started out providing financial aid to officers of other credit unions in Idaho. In the 1940s, credit union officers were not allowed to be members of their own credit unions. The credit union moved to Caldwell in 1944 and then to Chubbuck in 1948. ICCU has grown to include numerous branches throughout Idaho, including a branch in Mountain View High School in Meridian, Idaho that is staffed by students.〔(Credit union industry healthy in Idaho. ) ''Idaho Business Review, Boise.''7 May 2007.〕 In 1982, ICCU merged with the faltering Idaho Public Employees Credit Union.
